novaerion expands transaction business – Andreas Eichler appointed to lead the business unit

Since August 2026, novaerion GmbH has been strategically expanding its transaction business under the leadership of Andreas Eichler, who serves as Head of M&A. The focus is on medium-sized companies in special situations and insolvency proceedings. In this role, he works closely with founding partner Sven Pursche.

The demand for M&A in special situations is growing: according to the Federal Statistical Office, local courts reported 10,546 corporate insolvency filings between January and May 2026, an increase of 4.9% compared to the same period last year.

"Especially in economically challenging times, the particular value of our work for me lies in opening up viable perspectives for companies and preserving jobs," says Eichler. "This requires a hands-on approach under significant time pressure to find a solution that can actually be implemented with all stakeholders within the given timeframe."

With over ten years of experience in consulting and entrepreneurship, Eichler possesses extensive expertise. Most recently, as an Associate Partner at an investment firm specializing in special situations, he was responsible for deal acquisition and transaction business. Prior to that, he held a leadership position at a corporate finance boutique specializing in crisis and distressed M&A. Before that, he managed several corporate transformation projects for a medium-sized management consultancy. As a former co-founder of an international consultancy, he supported companies with market entry and expansion in India on the ground. He therefore also understands the shareholder perspective from his own experience. His economics studies took him to Bayreuth, Barcelona, Delhi, and Sydney, among other places.
