According to the Federal Statistical Office, the final insolvency figures for June 2022 are at a low level compared to May 22: -8.2%. A total of 7,113 insolvencies were reported in the first half of 2022, which represents a decline of 4.0% compared to the first half of 2021.

Bankruptcy figures are expected to fall further by 4.2% in July this year — but a reversal and rising insolvency figures are forecast for August. The proportion of major cases fell further in June.

It remains to be seen how the announced simplifications in the insolvency filing requirement will be structured.
