On 07.02.2023, the Paderborn District Court approved the application for insolvency of the construction company Peters + Laza Bauunternehmung GmbH & Co. KG. The insolvency proceedings were opened on 01.05.2023.
Attorney and specialist lawyer for insolvency and restructuring law Marco Kuhlmann from the law firm KKN Rechtsanwälte in Soest, who was also confirmed as insolvency administrator, was appointed as interim insolvency administrator. In a first step, Marco Kuhlmann succeeded in stabilizing and continuing business operations and initiating the M&A process. This was implemented at short notice using measures such as negotiating new work contracts while involving suppliers and customers at the same time.
After successfully stabilizing business operations, the interim insolvency administrator initiated the search for suitable investors in a second step. The market approach was therefore aimed at companies from the construction industry that also specialize in architectural services and construction — in particular, the highly qualified employees, the customer base and the existing orders should be of interest to potential buyers. novaerion GmbH was commissioned to carry out a professional M&A process, which helped identify the Essen Thelen Group as an investor despite the demanding market environment (development in the construction sector, interest rate development, slump in demand). The buyer was advised by Greenfield Industrial GmbH, led by Ron Alexander, who took over the company to open insolvency proceedings.
