MP GmbH from Norderstedt focuses on the manufacture and sale of transformers and energy-saving systems. By order of 01.05.2024, the Norderstedt District Court opened insolvency proceedings against the assets of MP GmbH. Hamburg-based lawyer Dr. Thilo Streck was appointed insolvency administrator.
As a first step, the team led by attorney Dr. Streck succeeded in stabilizing and continuing business operations. In parallel, an investor process was initiated, which was managed by novaerion GmbH from Düsseldorf. After just two months, an acquirer was found to take over the business operations of MP GmbH. This is MBS AG & Co. KG from Sulzbach-Laufen, which aims to achieve synergy effects and bundle know-how with the takeover. At the same time, the established brand name can continue to be used, as in future the company will operate under the name MP GmbH & Co. KG. It is very gratifying that almost the entire workforce is being taken over and can continue to be part of the MP.
Dr. Streck explains: “We are very pleased that we were able to generate a continuation solution for MP GmbH in such a short period of time and saved the majority of jobs. The takeover of the company by a leading global manufacturer of low-voltage transformers and measurement transducers sets the course for a successful future so that customers and suppliers can look ahead with confidence.”
